I've heard through the traps that the marlin 1894 series of lever actions has a regular habit of jamming. I got mine a few years ago and up until a few days ago hadnt had a problem, but it seems now that on cycling the action, the first round in the tube gets pinched 1/2 way out by the feed ramp. anyone suggest a way to fix this, thanks! Check the cartridge overall length 1st. Long cartridges tend to jam. John

Tighten the screw that secures the loading gate. It may have loostened a bit and is causing your problem.

I've had good luck asking these folks about various Marlin related things. Even got a deal on Magazines for a M880 from them that included a discount if you bought 3 and FREE Shipping. Try (203) 239-5621 and ask for Customer Service. That takes you to Marlin Firearms. I didn't like the length of a barrel on a Marlin I had and they said if I'd Ship it to them, they would put a new barrel on and Ship it back for $143(I think). Best of luck to you.
