I have a couple of Spanish 98 actions and wonder if I should heat treat them , , , and if the answer is yes, who to do it and what is the bill likely to be?

They are likely to end up as a 308 and a 7X57.

When I last checked, Blanchard charged $75 for the first action, and $20 for each additional. Issues with the Spanish 98s are reported to be steel quality, and heat treat. I don't know how much those two factors are inter-related.

I understand they are military actions , they come from good when started to made in 1943 and to very well made in the 60's , for a 308 or 7 x 57 should be no problem should have a crest with the word Corua ( arsenal ) and M43 as a model , the first ones are not well heat threated , some soft some extra hard .
