My buddies interarms 458wm blows the floorplate open with heavy loads. He asked me to close it permently, anybody have any good ideas on how to do this? with limited effort (i.e. no gunsmiths) Its a push button release on the right side on the forward part of the trigger guard. Can I just marine tex bed it shut? File the latch deeper to catch more of the floorplate?

The latch bearly caught the floorplate on my Daly (Mark X) 300Wmag. I just filed it a bit.

I have a 375 that the previous owner fixed. He drill and taped a small screw into the back of the floorplate. I could remove it if I want and go back to using the release but for now it works just fine.
