Hi, I have a .416 built on a L61 Sako action but I´m not totally satisfied with the trigger. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket trigger? Timney doesn´t seem to make one that fits a Sako and I´m not sure of Shilen?

A good gunsmith can improve a Sako trigger to operate safely at 2 pounds or slightly lower for less money than it will cost to replace it . That should be light enough unless you want to use it for benchrest matches . Timney did do a Sako trigger but are an inferior quality product to the original IMHO . Canjar do a set trigger for the Sakos I believe . The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood. cewe, I recently bought a couple of triggers from Brownells, they list a Timney or a Jewell, I think it was the Timney--that will work for the L-61. Good Luck--Don

Timney it is - no Jewells for the Sakos, sadly. I'm not sure the Timney is much better (if at all?) than the factory Sako, though. The Canjars for Sakos presumably exist, but just getting in touch with the company is almost akin to winning in the lottery - let alone actually getting a trigger out of them. The fact cewe lives out of the States does not make it any easier, either. Strictly speaking, a trigger needs an export permit to leave the States - unless it does so as part of an officially exported rifle... So simply calling up the manufacturer (or Brownells) and ask for shipment is probably not going to work. Sakos are great products, but there is not much available in terms of after market parts for them... - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon...
