I am looking for an after market trigger guard for a .22 cal rifle. I am making a new stock and the plastic one is pretty beat up and I would like to make it metal if at all possible.

Do both screws on the triggerguard need to be spaced to align with threaded holes in the action, or does it screw into the wood? If they screw into the wood you could use basically anything you want, including the one pictured. Or make one...

It will screw into the wood. The one that I pictured is flat on the base. I would like one that has a slight curve to it. I may just go with the flat and change out the design on the stock. I have a blank rough cut just waiting for a butt plate that is coming in the mail and now need to figure a trigger guard. The one that came off the gun is about 6 inches long and follows the contour of the gun behind the trigger. the one for the remington is about 3 3/8 long but it is a little wider than the 1/2 inch guard that came off the gun.

I used to use US Krag trigger guards for such things. They can be thinned and modified to your likes. All steel of course.
They used to be cheap and readily available, but they're probably gold now Frowner.
Both the Remington and Williams pictured in the links look good IMHO.
