Howdy all,

I've got a practical Browning highpower that is going into slide lock with loaded mags. Anyone ever see this before or know of a cure? It does it with two different mags and with a low hand hold. I thought I was bumping the lever with my thumb. Doesn't do it every shot, but too often.

Damn right its loaded, it makes a lousy club. -JW

First I would try a different manufacturer of magazines...might be the spring is too strong, weak, or might be a geometry issue with the way the ammo is held in the mag.
Second I would take a close look at the slide release lever as it may be oversized allowing the ammo in the mag to push it up. Look for burrs. If possible, try and find another slide release, maybe a local gunshop has one that they will let you try out.
Hope this helps..........

Most problems with the HP can be traced to the mags.
