I picked up a very nice pre-70 series Colt Gold Cup today and took it apart to clean it up and get all the dried grease out. Gun is probably 98+ finish and has benn shot very little. I paid $925 out the door on my credit card which I figured was a good deal for a clean Golt Cup.

This model has the depressor on the sear and a very tiny spring I have yet to figure out how to get everything back together. I tried using a slave pin to hold things together until I insert the sear pin but that doesn't work either.

No luck or internet searching other that an mention that it is a difficult task.

I think I did this years ago but if I did I can't remeber now!

Can anyone tell me how to get this Colt back together?

Thanks!

I use a slave pin that is a bit tight. The depressor is thin so it pops off pretty easy.

I do the same - with a bit of grease to hold that little spring in place.

I had one of those Gold Cups as my first IPSC gun. The practice at the time was to throw the spring and depresser away. I probably put about 30k rounds through that gun before the frame cracked and never missed it.
