I have a 25-06 Ackley barrel threaded for a Rem 700 that I just came across and want to rechamber it to a 257 Weatherby. I have a Remington 700 magnum action I would be using for the project. Is this easily do-able.

May need to set the barrel back a thread. Not that big of a deal.

The first question that pops into my head is...how many rounds does the AI barrel have on it already? While the Weatherby isn't the barrel eater that some claim, rechambering a used barrel to the Roy isn't going to be doing it any favors.

Barrel is a Douglas XX SS with less than 200 rounds fired.
