The ring pictured below is from a Brno mount. It's solid steel and the only ways I can think of to remove it are to bend it open or to take the turrets off of the scope. The scope itself is a very old Weaver K-4 that has seen better days. I slipped the rear ring off by removing the eyepiece but the front ring got on there somehow?

For those old rings you usually have to remove the turret addjustment assembly from the scope.. I have never seen a solid on a scope without the removable style assembly. I have 3 pre-war model 70s with old Weaver scopes. there is evidence that the rings were put on this way also. Mike

The ring is off. I bent it off with my fingers. I do have a like new K-4 with the short objective that will clear the express open sight but those scopes are not all that good. Scopes like the Leu 2-7 are too short for the ring spacing. Even the Kahles ah 2-7 is too short in the body. Now to find the correct scope.
