Cazador788 Rem Trigger
Does anyone out there know of an after-market source for Rem 788 triggers? I've got three in my safe and they could all use better triggers.

Old Elk HunterBefore I pay $110 for a trigger I would like to
hear from someone who actually has one. I am most curious is it retains the factory style bolt stop???

KingfisherI had mine reworked by Shilen a couple of years ago and they did an excellent job. Got the weight of pull down to probably just under 3 lbs with a nice crisp break. Only cost me $50. So keep that in mind. I'm sure a good gunsmith could do the same thing.

working on triggers is fraut with liability issues. Any information you receive on the internet should be considered "for informational purposes only. Use at your own risk"
just like reloading information

PfeiferThere's an old issue of Amreican Rifleman that details the 788 trigger mods. I might even have an extra copy as I picked up a bunch of oldies recently.

FjoldI tried to order one of the Timney triggers from
http://www.gunaccessories.com right off of their website and got this email from them.
Dear Sir/Madam,
We apologize but we do not have the items you are looking for. We appreciate your interest in contacting us.
Sincerely,
http://www.gunaccessories.comI emailed Timney asking if they had ever actually made this trigger but I haven't received an answer yet.

If you want to send those 788's out here I will be happy to rework the triggers for you. After all, that is what I do...

N. S. SherlockFor a year or better there has been a bit of puff about the new timney trigger for the 788. I just gave up on buying one one and had the original reworked. It's great.
