Does anyone know if the Sears 53A (pre-64 M70) is marked as such on the receiver or just on the barrel.

Thanks,
Dennis

Is there a difference between the 53 and 53A. I have seen Sears 53's gor for less than $300 on different websites. I always figured they were push feed M70's to go for that price.

I looked at the pictures, it is a pushfeed, not a REAL Mod. 70.

The 53's I've seen are all post-64 Winchesters. Models 50, and 51 will be either a FN 98 or a Husqvarna 98. I've never seen a Husqvarna actioned Sears rifle but they are out there.

Well I didn't want to post the link lest everone bid against me but this sparked the question. The seller advertises it as a pre-64. Looking at the one pic it does appear to be a push feed.
