I need a long tang 99 Savage pistol grip stock. A newly made replacement will do. who makes them?

I should have said that I had already checked out Boyd’s. Boyd’s only offers stocks for the later short tang 99s. Guns made before serial 60000 have a tang about 1/4” longer.

I have a few that I use for pattern stocks if your interested in building your own or have someone do it for you..Let me look around I may have an original in the bunch but they aren't cheap and all but impossible to come by.

I could only find a nice pattern stock, the others disapeared!! measure the tang...but it can be made to fit with bondo, Im not sure if a custom stock is what you need however..

Google "Cottagecraftworks and Savage 99"

They have what you want. I ordered one for a E/G 250-3000 that I refurbished a couple of years ago and was quite pleased with what I got and it was right around $120 or so. Straight grained back walnut--like you would find on the originals--no sapwood. About 95% fitted. Required some final inletting. They have the pattern you need.

BTW, the long tang variation is only 1/8" longer. Its no big deal to extend the inletting another 1/8"

I also found Macon gunstocks in MO. It appears that the pages from cottage gunstocks are duplicates of the Macon page for the 99s. Prices are less at Macon. I’m going to have to find a stock bolt as well. Fortunately Numrich has them, as they have an odd 5/16-22 thread.
