Have a stainless rifle I want to lay some color on. Wanting to do the job myself, and have access to all the tools I need. Anyone have any experience with Cerakote? Advice?

Thought about Duracoat, but understand that Cerakote is much more durable. . . . .

If you've got the ability to heat cure the finish, Cerakote H-series is superior by a mile, and I sell both.

If you are going to use ambient cure, then take your pick, there isn't much difference.

Sounds good. How hot do you have to get bit, for how long?

250 deg for 2 hours is the spec, but that really means a little longer than 2 hours since it takes a little while to get the metal up to temp.

Heh, nice looking paint work. I've been using an Epoxy deck paint for my synthetic rifle stocks. It's a "Forrest Paint" product in a can that has a sand substance in it for use as a deck paint. Seems to hold up very well.
If my oven connection does not pan out, I may have a Cerakote job for you.
Looks good. Thanks.
