Michael RobinsonWinchester Model 70 - Williams One-Piece Bottom Metal
Need some advice from the experts.
How difficult is it to fit a Model 70 action and Williams one-piece bottom metal into a Super Grade stock that has been inlet for standard Winchester two-piece bottom metal?
Is this an easy job?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

jeffeossoMike,
for you, it will be an easy job .. get your scrapers and gouges out, and sharpen them -- should take less than an hour for someone who knows which end of the gouge to hold

enyThe ones for post 64s (from PTG) have been easy, but the pre 64 one I picked up (don't know the maker) is smaller than original inletting.

Michael RobinsonThanks. I did it this morning. It was almost a drop in. Super easy even for me.

Curious if you were happy with PTG's quality?

Yes, but I don't have enough experience to have any other opinion, and I don't do exhibition quality work

If I can remember how to get photos on here, I'll post one later.

Michael RobinsonThanks! Looks good to me. I’m going to order one with the Oberndorf floor plate release.

Just a warning, the PTG “Oberndorf” floor plate is rather homely and clunky.

Michael RobinsonYou are correct.
It’s blocky and full of right angles.
This will be some work.
