What is the feasability of converting a Whitworth .458win mag to a Lott? Is the action long enough to do without cutting the action. I have a chance to buy one at a good price in 100% condition but don't need another .458 win mag.

It should be very easy. The Mark X action is magnum length and the bolt fact is the same. I'd suspect that most of the work would go into the rails, the ramp and the follower. Good luck.

Oldsarge,

That statement may be true of the older Whitworths, but I've got a Whitworth .458 from ~1981 that is definitely not a "magnum length" action. The mag box is right around 3.4", and the receiver would have to be opened up to take anything longer.
