whm7753Conversion of a Whitworth 375 H & H to404 Jeffery
Can a Whitworth 375 H & H be converted to a 404 Jeffery safely, comfortably and without too much ado?
Thanks,
Bill

vapodogWhile I've never done it.....I sure would think it's not at all a difficult conversion and a safe one as well.

HunterJimI was going to say you will need bottom metal, but some folks beat me to it!

RatltrapI once considered building a RUM on a Mark X action, but after looking into it and corresponding with a few folks here I decided a brand new CZ Rigby or 404 and scope could be had for about the same price.
Now I'm thinkin' 375 Ruger or a 416 spinoff for my Win Mag configured Mark X action. There may be some feeding issues there too, but nothing compared to the 404 length cartridges.

I've never had any trouble with the MKX in 06 or magnum feeding. I'd bet it would work as is on the 375 case and be even better with a little work.
I've got a 7mag waiting for an AR conversion.

lee440The factory bottom metal will should work. I've used it for 458 lott with no problems.
