Hey guys,

I think excellent customer service deserves to be shared.

I posted a couple weeks ago about a problem I was havinging with a trigger that I bought as a used timney taken off a springfield. I didn't get the answer I needed here and called Timney.

After I explained things to a nice guy on the phone, and told him I wasn't sure it was a timney, as was wrong color, he said send it back and if it was a timney and something not right he'd send me a replacement! if it was wrong trigger he'd contact me to buy a new one.

I thought you couldn't beat that! So i sent it off, along with my contact information, reiteration of my desire to buy a new trigger if this wasn't a Timney, and a SASE for return.

I waited a few days, and was going to call to see if it arrived, and lo and behold in my stack of mail (uncle brought in) was my envelope!! brand new featherweight timney trigger!!!!

I have to say, every sporter (all but two of the rifles I've owned) has worn a timney in the end, I'll make sure that never changes, I like a company that is that good to people even when it doesn't need to be. He could have said "nah, doesn't sound like ours" or "man, that's frickin' old" and either way made me buy a new one.

Yesterday morning I went in the shop, spent some time with the files and stones doing some careful minor fitting (alignement of the sear pin hole) and VOILA! function is PERFECT! just as before my original one was misplaced. function is great, wisner safety works perfect. I'm a very happy camper.

Red, I have had the same with them also.

About four years ago I had a sportsman FN, that just was not right, the one adjustment screw was in the wrong place / angle, and nothing I could do would make it work.
I boxed it up with a letter, explaining the problem and also said I had no idea as to its age as I aways keep one or two spare Timney triggers in inventory.

In two weeks time an new trigger showed up.

I have used Timney triggers now for about 36 years, with good results.

Great customer service eh?.....

I've been buying Timney triggers for so long I can't remember...at least 30 years I'd guess.....

Here's the rub....I've never had to make use of their customer service....absolutely every trigger I've ever purchased from Timney was excellent...

It's good to hear their customer service is great too.....but the best is the one you never need.....now let me find some wood to knock on....I have three sportsman triggers sitting in packages unopened....I may have spoke too soon..... Big Grin

I just installed my first aftermarket trigger, a Timney, on my Rem 788. Easy to install and sweet to shoot. I may never need their customer service but these kudos lead me to believe that I need to buy a few more to install on several Model 7's,673 Guide Gun, and a 700 Mountain Rifle.
