I just picked up one of the 7.62x39 carbines and have played with the factory CZ rings. They measure around .565" from the bottom of ring (top of "base") to bottom of scope which at least .200" higher than needed for the scope I plan on using (Leupold Compact) and butt ugly to boot. Who makes something lower?

try warne & talley, I know thye ,make mounts for the 550 but I am not sure about the 527. Good choice of rifle by the way, you will love cz's

Warne was supposedly come out with a new version of their Maxima rings for the CZ and I suspect that they should be available by now. I would give Brownells a call to see if they have any available. Good luck.
