Need Full mannlicher stock for mex 1936 rifle
I just bought a sporter Mexican Mauser 1936 that has been rebarreled to 243. I’d love to know if anyone makes mannlicher stocks, or am I looking at a full custom project?

I would suggest get a swede (96) stock, and see if there are any gaps -- that is, buy a fairly junk milsurp 96 stock, and see if there are any gaps with YOUR action.. inlet it yourself, etc....

I would expect that a 96 ML stock would work - further that the only issue i would be worried about is the bolt handle.

i do have a bit of love for mexican mausers
22-243, 708, 308, 358, 376 styer, and 458 winmag (loaded short) on them

Richards makes them. And a Mex in a 96 stock; you won't have any gaps; in fact the Mex has more metal behind the bridge so you have to inlet for that. Bolt is in the same place. Otherwise the same on top;
However, just get a stock for the 93 Spanish or 95 Chilean if you can't find a Mexican.

I've have never built a mannlicher style stock. I've always wanted a 7x57 with a mannlicher stock. I may attempt one someday.

I've built several; Main thing is not to get the barrel too long; 18 inches or so looks best. Anything over 20 inches looks awkward.
And don't make the forearm too fat.

Does a shorter barrel have any effect on accuracy?

No; has nothing to do with it. In fact a short stubby barrel will shoot better than a long one; look at a benchrest gun.

to be clear --
if one cuts done a barrel, it gets stiffer, in effect.

same WEIGHT barrel, not contour, will also be stiffer...

and if we recall that accuracy (goes where it's pointed) and precision (all of them in the same place) are different things, the stiffer barrel will USUALLY offer higher precision
