Merry Christmas everyone. Some time ago I saw a small pic of a peep sight mounted on the breechblock of a Mod 1887 Winchester shotgun. I was in a hairy that day and didn't save it. Just aft of the breech face, on top, there is a vent hole extending down into the firing pin bore, to vent gasses in the event of a pierced primer. I noticed that on my piece, a Chinese copy, that this hole is tapped. Looking at the pic it seemed to me that this hole was used as an attachment point for the sight, which was very small and neat. The last few days I have been combing the 'net for any info on this setup with no results. I thought I had seen the pic here, but after a search this morning I guess not. If anyone has any info or tips about this, I'd sure like to hear 'em Thanks RG | ||
