Question for Jeffeosso
Jeffe,

What is required to fit a NECG front site for a Ruger M77 on a CZ550 Safari Magnum? Is it simply a little filing or more complex than that? I would like to get one of the large NECG beads for my .416 Rigby.

Thanks.

Mike

Mike,
the CZ requires some more work.. grinding and such...

the ruger you can order a direct replacement from NECG

Pity. The front sight on the CZ absolutely sucks.

It requires that the inside be machined to the same taper that your Ruger barrel has.

Nothing required other than a lathe and a competant operator.

Roger,
necg is now making a direct fit for the rugers, rather than milling a new dovetail...

the cz's are shorter, and require them to be shortened on the muzzle end, and re-drilled.. can't do a necg fiber on a CZ front ramp, i think.

Yes, one would have to be a good lathe operator, with a milling attachment, to get that... mill would be easier Smiler

I was referring to the inside taper of the barrel band. I thought all of the NECG banded front sights came with a straight hole through them.

If not, I stand corrected.

I'm confused. Was the original question about just a blade insert or a complete front band assembly?

As usual just my $.02

They do come with a straight hole.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Looks like I have, once again, misinterpreted the question. Oops!

Roger, I asked because I read it the same as you. I was thinking the band as well.

Guys,
I had the advantage on that one... spent some time with mike over the last two weekends... yeah, he's looking to replace the bead, not the whole thing....

Mike,
Thinking about it.. if you wanted to, it's not so bad to replace the whole front sight!!
