I got my blackbear rifle project#3 today.Iam really pleased the way she is shaping up.I got lots of sanding and finishing to do,but know you guys love to see a project as shes coming along!I got the idea from customstoxs 7x57 we all love! The cool thing about this rifle is i know the original owner and know all the history and evenknow the gunshop dealer that sold the rifle new.The rifle has been on many elk hunts in the Bob Marshall wilderness on pack hunts for weeks at a time. The old stock was in ugly bad shape and when i got my blackwalnut blank from Bill Soverns early this year i just knew it had to go on a special rifle. So here she is,iam going to try and post some pics. This is going to be my mountain blackbear rifle. The action and barrel is a old FN Belgium safari in 30-06.The bolt is hitting the stock right now and the front sight needs work but that will come later,Any recommendations on Finishing, checkering or metal work/sights,scopes,etc. is appreciated as i still havent decided what else to do.Special Thanks to Bill soverns for selling me the blank and thanks to all you guys for your help with my other projects. This Custom rifle building Stuff is Fun!

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.
