My old Sako was built in the 50's and is what they called the[vixon]and was chambered in .222 or .222 mag, mine was .222. They had a long spring steal extractor and I was told that no one has them anymore. That makes my gun a singleshot with a ramrod. Does anyone have any ideas on how I fix this, I'm desprite. Thanks for your help Slydog

Slydog--- Start looking for the Mark X mini- mauser extractors. They're the same but are almost as rare as Sakos. Expect to pay $20 or so.

Jim Lutes of Whitewater, Kansas has one of the largest supplies of Sako parts. Give him a try. If he doesn't have it, you'll have to have one made or adapted.

Slydog, If the extractor is only slightly bent...i.e. extractor claw not grabbing the case rim, it can probably be repaired. Give me a shout at kevinroyal@aol.com Friend Of The 17 Kevin Gullette
