Mauser straddle floorplate

I'm sure someone here has made them. What is the radiuses. It looks to be around 3" in the rear and 2-1/2" in the front. Does this sound like a good starting spot or am I way off base here. I'm trying to avoid the large pile of scrap that I usually get with trial and error.

richjWide end is about 1", hinge end is about .9"
1.210 wide and .2 thick
.995 wide and .150 thick.

aleaddictI have a couple Wisner floorplates. If no one else has these dims, I could model one for you. I'm pretty busy so you'll have to wait. HTH

22WRFJim advised me that he is getting a bar of steel in soon to make another run of the Wisner Straddle Floorplates. So, if you don't need them right away it might be prudent just to wait for Jim to make them.

Don MarkeyThanks guys, I understand the overall dimensions. What I can't fiqure out, is what radiuses the outside is. I'm sure there is a mathematical formula for it, but I was never good in geometery. I guess I could make some templetes and measure one, I just thought there would be an easier way. It's a tapered part and if the thickness is consistant throughout, the radiuses are different front to back right? Or am I overthinking this? I've never been accused of that before.

1.210 wide and .2 thick,
R = 1.160".995 wide and .150 thick,

richjThere is a slight flat on the edge of the fp that's not take into account.
1.210=1.01506 radius
.995=0.90002 radius

Seems like you could just go to the store (or internet) and buy an old fashion circle template and measure the floorplate. I can't tell whether you have a floorplate to go by.

J WisnerYou guys are close to the raduis I make mine floor plates for the 1909.
1.150"
But it is the same constant raduis front to back, figure that one out.
My fixture also machines 4 floor plates at a time to do the raduis.
I have the bar of steel in, just have to start cutting and sawing, then work them in the production CNC mill work.
One 12 foot bar I get 52 floor plates out of.

Please leave the straddle slot to hinge distance longer so that they can be fitted to Mk X and Zastava type bottom metal.

Thanks Jim, I was kind of invisoning 4 at a time also. Same radius though, now I got some thinking to do. I didn't have one of yours to measure and the Blackburn ones looked to be a different radius front to back. When will you have some in stock?

22WRFI had this one made by a local machinist. He got everything right except for the location of the indent for the spring.
