Playing with the ideal of building a Mannlicher 10/22. The pattern is cut for an 18.5". Can anyone save me some internet time and point me towards a quality barrel that length? As usual just my $.02 Paul K | ||

I've shortened a bunch of them. I start by drilling out to 1/2" and parting off the first 3/4" of the barrel so I can move the sight base back. Then I cut the barrel to the desired length, turn it down and solder the front sight base back on. I've done a bunch at 14 1/2", then thread 1/2"-28, thread on a flash hider, then drill, pin and weld for 16 1/2" overall length. Installed a few suppressor adapters on them this way too.
