I'm not sure what I did but I cannot move the wing 2-position safety on this J C Higgins FN bolt. Any suggestions?

On the other hand, it is a 30-06 with alot of blue wear but functionally okay. It is in a B&C stock, with Leupold QRW bases, and a new Timney trigger. Buy it and you fix it!

Check and make sure the bolt shroud/firing pin assembly is screwed all the way into the bolt.

BINGO! you did say Timmney trigger. Thats what you did wrong go back and reread or read for the first time the installation instructions that came with the trigger, or failing that, call Timmney on the phone in Phoenix and tell them, "the old lady had it out of the stock and you don't know what she could have done to it, but it don't wanna work no more". Do this right and they will have a good laugh and turn you over to somebody in the shop next door that will ask you if you read the instruction/ STOP do not tell them you are a native born american male and you do not read instruction. Rather tell them you don't know how to read as you had a good american liberal education and they didn't think it important that you could read. Or put the old trigger back in, the safety will work and call Timmney and tell them what a P O S they sold you and (just to prove your point) How both your wife and your six year old daughter couldn't make it work (they may not believe the part about your six year old)! As she is female and doesn't know there not suppose to read the instructions!
