Will a stock from a 1978 era Ruger #1B (.270 Win) fit on 2012 Ruger #1 Boddington Leopard in 7X57? The buttstock should be the same but is the barrel profile the same?

I would call Ruger Customer service and ask. My experience with them is they will let you talk to someone who will know.

I would not count on the buttstock fitting perfectly. Generally hand fitted. Good luck, Chris DRSS

Yeah...I figured it would take some minor adjustment and perhaps some bedding compound to make the buttstock work. My main concern is with the barrel channel.

The stock will come a lot closer to fitting than the channel might. The butt stock will be pretty much the same. Now same barrel channels between two designs and calibers I wouldn't bet serious $$ on. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

You will have to measure both barrels to see if they are the same. All #1s use the same butts though so with some minor tweaking, maybe, those will fit. My experience with Ruger on stocks is that they are of no help at all; everything must be hand fitted, they say. They won't sell stocks unless you send in the rifle.
