rebarrel 45/70 to 50/70?

For instance, what would have to be done to a Browning 1885 Highwall or Ruger No1 in 45/70 to convert it to 50/70?

Rebarrel, rechamber, and maybe monkey with the extractor, but perhaps not. I think .50-70 may be about the same rim as the .45s. A quick call to www.buffaloarms.com could confirm that.

Easy, but WHY? A .50-90 maybe, but a .50-70 is a cartridge I've never cottoned to.
