Putting action back into stock issues

Hey gents, I recently performed a deep cleaning on my CZ 550 in .416 Rigby, which included removing the action from the stock. I was able to get it out and put it back without any issues, but for some reason there is a decent sized gap between the rear of the receiver and the stock, it's not huge, but it is larger than before I removed the action from the stock. I have taken the stock out of the action several times, and put it back, but the action sits in exactly the same place, with the gap at the rear. I have never encountered this before with any rifle, and I am just curious if I am doing something wrong, or if leaving the gap will harm anything. Thanks so much for your input.

If you haven't already, try this: before you do a final tightening of the action screw, bounce the recoil pad on the floor two or three times - that will usually seat the action fully to the rear of the recoil lug mortise.

Well that can't be good. If there is that much lateral slop between the action and the stock the it's way past bed time. Time to bed it.
