This custom rifle I had posted with pictures (birdseye maple stock/Leonard Mews) awhile back has a chamber in need of some work. Some brands of factory ammo won't allow the bolt to close without a lot of convincing. I'm looking to borrow, rent, or buy a reamer to get the job done. One local gunsmith wants to solve the problem by lapping the bolt lugs and I think he's way out of line. Help please

Until factory ammo was available, there was no "standard" dimensions for this caliber...now there is a CIP standard and CIP dimensionally acceptable reamers are available. ..but...I don't think "lapping" lugs is the answer. JGS or Pacific Tool and Gage can fix you up...perhaps Clymer...be sure to get gages
