Not fore end tip; a tip like a piece of information. If you need a stock for a Herters J9 Intermediate Action, do not order the one listed on Boyds website as the J9; that is only for the standard 98 action. Order a Yugo 24 and you will get the right one. I just got one in today and it fits the J9 like a glove. Herters sold two J9s and there is no way to tell the difference unless you measure the length. If you have the original barrel then the long cartridge and magnums are on the standard action, but in this case, I didn't.
Anyway, here is a unique stock I got from them today; for a Rem 721 in 300 H&H. I just wanted to try one. Boyds has a two week PLT, and are all CNC made and very precise.

My buddy is on a Maple kick, ordered an unfinished (cost more) maple Springfield stock. He said 5 minutes and it dropped in. I don't like the color but it does have some nice stripes

I wonder why he got it unfinished since they do a nice job of finishing with tough hard clear finish.
