Ok need some help. Picked up my new Titan 1.5X6x42 scope. I was wanting to use some type of quick release on my Whitworth. In looking at the spacing the front ring needs to really be about 1/4" rear of a standard Leupold Dovetail. As to height a low mount would work. Anyway any suggestions on a system that I could move the front ring back a little. Oh yes needs to be matt finish. One of the weaver bases that you drill and grove yourself and the QRW rings? Does Talley make an extension base for their mounts? Open to ideas. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

I understand what you're trying to do, but I don't know precisely how to go about it. I have never heard of Tally extension bases although they might be persuaded to make you a pair for enough money. What I'd try to do first would be to get a set of Leupold Gunmaker QD's and machine a front base to suit your needs. If you do go this route, I'll gladly buy the other unused base from you as I am looking to purchase a set for something I want to work on later and need a rear. After more searching. I guess I was thinking of Warne making an extension base. Looks to me like I could get a Warne front extension base then I could use the Warne, Leupold, or Burris QR rings for the weaver style base. As usual just my $.02 Paul K
