Taurus 99 Rear Sight

Since it would appear Taurus PT99 rear sights and/or parts are not available, I am looking for another solution. Attached is a PT99 slide without the sight. I would like to mount an optic sight, but do not have at hand any of the adapter plates to see which one would fit best. Note the sides of the slide that fit around the rear sight could be milled away up to where the extractor fits for a larger flat mounting area.

Has anyone mounted an optic to the PT99 (or PT101)?

Any suggestions where to start? Also does anyone have any idea what the specs are for the threaded hole that holds the rear sight elevation screw? I went to my home center and could not find an English or Metric bolt that fit.

Please no Taurus bashing, even though it's all well deserved.

Here is a U-Fixm from Century. Might be cheap enough as a parts gun. It has the sights.

Could send it back to Taurus and let them fix it.

Well you have a point. Their website says they service anything made before 2017.

I did end up ordering one from Taurus. Out of stock, no expected date. We shall see. BTW sights are only covered for a year.
