If you are trying to reduce the capacity to 5 rounds for hunting purposes just cut a spacer that will fit inside ther spring and only allow 5 rounds to be loaded.

I used a wooden pencil cut to fit to convert a 32 round AUG mag to 5 rounds.

Worked perfect.

Buddy, if your not in any big hurry, I know I have a couple of factory 5 rounders around here someplace, will just need to find them. You would be more than welcome to them.
My AR's are going to hold at least 20-30 if not the Beta-Mag 100 rounder Big Grin you can't do anything with a 5 rounder

jimmyd223,

That's because malm is a Marine and he knows to call things by their correct name! Smiler

Doors are hatches, floors are decks, walls are bulkheads, and ceilings are overheads. And if you don't get it right they will throw you out of one of those little round glass windows. Smiler

By the way, your big-boomer ammo is shipping out today if I don't break my back carrying it to the UPS store.

Thanks for the offer. If you find them let me know. I was hunting coyotes the other day and a nice game officer pointed out the fact of I needed a 5 rounder for my AR. Had the 700VS in hand but he saw the AR in the back seat of the truck. My wife donated a old cutting board so I will see what I can do with it.

Buddy, you had to be hunting in Yakima county Mad I have had a few run ins with those boys over the years. Used to hunt elk up around clear lake.

Man, only 5 rounds, that sucks, sure would be a pain in the ass to only load 5 rounds in my Beta-Mag. So far over here I haven't had a problem with the game folks as far as the high cap mags. Then again, I am mostly hunting large private farms and behind a locked gate.
