The final detail on a custom model 70 needs attention. I have gone with three stock colours in the past and will choose one of them. They are flat black, dark green, and dark brown. The metal work will be finished a matte blue and the stock is a McMillan Supergrade. I am leaning towards black because when I ding it a permanent marker can be applied to mask the mess. Scientific I know. Any suggestions?

I think that's excellent planning. Besides, for a non-wood stock, black just looks the best.

Hmmm Red. Wouldn't lose it that way.
