| It can be done, but it's not that simple. You'll have to remove the shank, cut a new one and thread it and then rechamber the barrel. Might be worth the effort if you got the barrel for free. Paul B. |

| The guys that are mainly using the Remmy takeoffs are the Turk users, as not as much work is needed to make a 700 bbl fit the small thread receivers. For the large thread receivers a pre-threaded/short-chambered barrel is much less labor intensive. |

| Thanks for the reply I got the barrel from a friend and have a m48 with a bad bore. I do have an old turk mauser as well......Hmmmmmmmm. Another interesting possibility. Thanks again. 8mmshooter |
