Is it possible to shorten the stock on an SX3. Thinking of buying one Monday but I like to shorten my shotgun to allow for heavy clothing.

If it has a wood stock the answer is certainly. If synthetic then probably likely but you need to be sure by removing the butt pad and seeing if there is a ridge of plastic along the comb and bottom of stock to attach screws to. You might be able to replace the butt pad with a thin butt plate.

on some plastic stock I have shorten and had to glue wood block inside to have something to attach the but pad that will have to be trimmed down

Winchester offers a compact stock with a 13 inch LOP if that is any help.

The SX3 comes in at 13.5" and then has 2 1/4" spacers to take it to 14". I now own one and are waiting for a suck or goose to venture close!!
