I was thinking of ordering an Adams & Bennett barrel for a Savage 110 in .338/06 from Midway. Has anyone had any experience with these barrels? The factory barrel (.25-06) shoots ok, but fouls after about 10 to 15 shots and is rougher than a cob. Are the Adams and Bennett any better (or worse) than the factory barrel?

ive got the 338/06 and there 220 swift barrels.i havent got to use either one very much.only 10 rounds the 338.most people are happy with what they cost and what thell do. do a search and you should find info on them. i wouldnt be afraid to get more of them some day. jason

Have used a dozen or more Midway Adams & Bennett barrels on Savage rifles -- as well as other brands of barrels. The Midway is not a match grade Shilen, for sure. And I haven't found the factory Savage barrels to be bad. But the Midway barrels work OK and I use them to test calibers not generally available at low cost to us left-handers. Have used a couple of 338/06 Midway barrels with satisfaction. Hammer

I have three that I shoot a lot; a 22-250, a.308,and a 358X404. All have the capability of shooting 1" groups at 100 yds.I haven't noticed fouling as being a problem. In fact the .308 gets better as it gets hotter.Oviously you're looking at a hunting rifle (338-06) so you will not have a problem with A-B barrels. roger

I get decent enough performance from an A&B in 7x57 mounted on a Vz24 action. IT's the lightest contour offered for 98's and has been trimmed back to 20" Makes a nice carbine in a Boyd's JRS stock and "scout" mounted scope.
