I'm considering re-stocking an M-70 with the McMillan Super Grade Stock. My question is this; does this stock feel rounded around the floorplate area, or is it more "blocky" a la the way the Ruger 77 feels?

I had one and didn't care for the forend.. I found it to be a bit blocky. The feel of the forend reminded me of the old Weatherby's in that it was somewhat square..

My opinion would be to contact D'Arcy Echols and get one of his McMillin Legends. Great stock.

An Echol's Legend stock would be the way I'd go.
