I came into an ingot of a Bismuth alloy called Ostalloy. It has a melting point of 156deg., and from what I can glean from googling it one of it's characteristics is virtually no shrinkage when it hardens- like Cerrosafe. Has anyone here ever used it as a cerrosafe substitute?

Key issue is Cerrosafe shrinks for the first 30 minutes or so then expands back to chamber size. I tried to use another low melting point alloy twice. Got it out once second time I used it I had to melt it out. Cerrosafe is hard to beat.

As usual just my $.02

I would think, if it has virtually no shrinkage when it hardens, you might not be able to get it out without remelting it.
