I'm planning to replace the plastic stock on my M70 375 H&H with a laminated stock, and don't know enough about the quality of different makers to decide which to use. I have looked at Weneig, Richards, Great American Gunstock CO., and Zero. I'm sure that there are a lot more out there.

Whose laminated stocks have you used? What have been your observations about quality, so far?

I've used Boyds JRS Model and just ordered another one. They are on sale now @ 25% off. An unfinished (fully inletted) one can be shaped as desired and can be had for $75. A great deal. All that's really required is a final sanding and finish but I have reshaped them into the English sporter configuration and they look and feel great. Inletting has been very good as well. One is about as good as another...I have used Richards and I like them...

I also have had Mel Smart, Montana, laminate some very old dry Turkish Walnut, that was fancy on one side and plain on the other, and it turned out beatiful with the plain on the inside and the fancy on the outside......

I have used stocks from Richards and zero and both have been fine. Niether are up to the standards of the old Fajen stocks but they are OK. I find the laminates kind of hateful to work with but at least they are wood (mostly) and I prefer it to synthetics by a long shot! Regards, Bill.

I have used Sile Laminates and they were great. Now I can't find Sile stocks anymore. Brownells used to handle them and they have no information on them at all.
