How strong are Winchester M70 "G" series push feed actions...

Were the long .30-06 length actions just opened up for the .458s? Were there any difference in the actions?

Yes the mag well rails were opened up to feed the fatter case. The action needs nothing done if the bolt face is made for a magnum case head.
Those actions are plenty strong. A push feed would not be my first choice for DG however.

Do it right the first time.
