Will the Stevens Favotire (Actually the new Model version of the favorite) Handle the pressure of the new 17HMR?

Just thinking it would make a handy light short range pest rifle.

What is the operating pressure of a 22LR and a 22 Mag?

Hi Jeff,
Normally, a rifle designed for the .22LR would not be 'safe' with a case operating at .22Mag pressures.
I have an earlier (1971) version of that rifle, and I wouldn't take the chance on such a conversion.

I think I'm going to look for a LH Anschutz in .22mag or a Ruger 10/22mag and re-barrel to .17HMR just for laughs.
