Dropped by one of my good friends and favorite gunsmiths at lunch today. He had a 3x6 table in the back of the shop that was absolutely covered with parts. While he was taking a call, I strolled over to look while he was talking and saw there were all kinds of parts - rifle, pistol, revolver and shotgun. I discerned a Luger frame, Mauser bolts, nicely engraved SxS boxlot receiver, AR parts, pistol frames, various receivers, firing pins, extractors, sights, hundreds of springs and pins, etc. On one corner of the table there was a double handful of hardware and plumbing parts. There were about a dozen rifle and shotgun barrels plus an assortment of stocks in a box on the floor.

Last week a guy brought in all the parts in a single big cardboard box along with a sack of barrels, grips and stocks. Seems his wife discovered a bit of infidelity on his part and hired a gunsmith to totally disassemble every gun. My buddy said that along with the excess non-firearms parts, he was certain that some of needed parts hadn't made the cut - Luger parts, extractors, not enough bolts for the number of receivers, etc. It's obviously going to take a while to turn the parts back into functional firearms.

Texas is a joint property state so I assume she was on firm ground hiring the gunsmith service...
