Hey guys, look here:

lunar model Mauser

Everyone should buy one or two of these babies to practice tig welding, surface grinding and polishing skills on. animal

Although the "detail" on the other one he has isn't quite as well defined.

I saw that action a day or two ago while cruising Gunbroker. I thought that action would be a major nightmare getting to look good. Big Grin

$150, and no bids? People just don't recognize a bargain when they see one. Actually this makes those un-issued mausers Sarco had look like a bargain. To want to make that look nice, you would have to be writing a book or something.

What a shame that somebody didn't take care of them so they didn't get that way.

Bead blast it. Prime it and apply some body filler. Sand until flush and reprime. Apply your favorite camo or wrinkle paint.
Epoxy can be use to fill the craters but is harder to sand. Epoxy might make safer.
It would be a good overload test/destructive test set if it was not so expensive.
