I just got a 77/17 HMR and the trigger is just awful. I see Timney has a trigger for the 77/22 and I'm guessing that it would work, as the 17 HMR is built on a necked down 22 mag case. Can anyone confirm this? Any other options?

By the way, this 17HMR is very accurate and is a lot of fun to shoot. It's a ground squirrel's worst nightmare!

elmo,
Try Brownell's at www.brownells.com .
Moyer makes an adjustable trigger for $108. The Volquartsen target sear is also a nice touch, for $31. SpecTech also has an adjustable trigger, for about $100 for the target trigger, and about $50 for their regular trigger. I have a SpecTech adjustable trigger (the $50 version) and the Volquartsen target sear in my 77/22VHZ, and am very pleased with them.
Regards, George.

Thanks for the reply.

Are you confirming my assumption that 77/22 and 77/17 Trigger assemblies are interchangeable?

Try a Dayton Traister Trigger with a volquartson sear. You'll like it! Jay
