Could a lever gun be converted to fire one or both of these rounds. Would a 94 action work or would you need a 1886?
Any other thoughts on this? It would be a nice handy close up gun if it could be done in an 94 size action.

Marlin beat you to it; the 1894RL in 475 Linebaugh.

The M92 Puma is made in .480 Ruger

The Marlin would be fine save for the fact that I have a real problem with a safety on a levergun (strike one)
I also am hoping for a 20 or better yet 24" barrel (strike two) the Puma would be OK except I want the capability of the .475 (strike three for me)
I wish I could say I have more money than brains but I don't (have either) but I am determined to make this work somehow. Looks like Marlin uses the larger 1895 action. I could try and find an older one and rebarrel.
Any of you smith's out there can of will the bolt in the 94 action open up to .540 and will it take the pressure?
Any of you guys have the Puma rifle? How to they compare to the Winchester of old or as of late. I may have to go that route to meet the cost goal.
