I'm thinking of converting one to a Sporter. The safety is a Mauser military style wing type affair. Is there a trigger that will fit or can be adapted? I would want to mount a scope and a have a low scope safety. I could leave the existing safety in place and get a Timney with a safety if it will work. Or perhaps a Timney safety like to old Dayton Traister that replaced the wing with a safety to the right v

I may also want to have it converted it to left hand. Any suggestions?

A lefty may be unobtainable. Lug seats taper in the wrong direction. The rest is up to the pro's on here to respond.

There are no forward locking lugs. The only lug is the bolt handle.

Interesting geometry. My similar MM410B is out for some work. I was thinking of something else.
Just for giggles - there are some nice close-ups of the bolt parts later in the video.

Ahhhh. No locking groove on the bolt body like a Mauser trainer? Or am I thinking of something else?

I see no way a left hand bolt would work due to the rear locking lug being on the right. Your link did not show the trigger group nor the bolt shroud safety internals, so there is no way to theorize a fix.

My suggestion is to pass that gun on to someone who will conserve it and use the cash to buy what you want.

I would discard the idea of making it a left hand rifle. If your willing to bank roll a significant machining and engineering project, then yes, it is absolutely possible.

I've been deep in the weeds developing a 3 position bolt shroud for these rifles. I suppose now is as good of time as any to start publicly "hyping" them up for sale. Material came in a few weeks ago, and I wanted to have a machined example completed before I really announced them, but here we are.

In regards to a replacement trigger, I have not found a suitable replacement as yet. Personally I don't mind the factory trigger, a little cleaned up, it is a good weight, relatively smooth and crisp. Certainly not a 2oz bench rest trigger, but more than adequate for plinking and hunting.

I, personally, am super excited about these. I bought two "sporterized" ie messed with rifles a very early example and a fairly late example to use to develop the bolt shroud. I'm hoping to build both out for the kids to use as they get older. I am planning to make an appealing rail that will mount on the flat and potentially out to the barrel. Most likely for talley rings.

I also have machined from solid bottom metal in process that will be available for sale as well, with a commercial style trigger guard. I'm working on finding a supplier to make semi inlets from my pattern, but haven't found one yet.

Some of you are confused. The only locking lug is the bolt handle. To convert to left hand, weld the bolt handle on the left side of the bolt and cut a notch in the left side of the frame for the bolt handle. There needs to be an incline (cam) on the right side added to make the bolt withdraw as the bolt handle is lifted.

As for a scope base, remove the rear sight and install a Talley Picatinny rail made for their Blaser mount. It will need to be shortened and a notch cut out for the raised part of the front receiver ring. It needs only to be screwed to the rear receiver ring using the two mounting holes for the rear sight that was removed.

The existing safety and trigger are certainly Mauser-esque. I would think a Timney or Dayton-Traister safety could be fitted. Or leave the military safety and install an aftermarket trigger that has a safety.
