Does anyone here know if the quality and strength of these bbl. vises and action wrenches sold by Midway USA are sufficient for occasional hobby-type work? Or maybe other recommendations? Thanks.

I have the vise and wrench as sold by Midway. My only complaint with the vise is that the clamping surface could have been made a little bigger, to add that little extra bit of hold. Otherwise, I've pulled a pile of Mauser barrels off with it (some painfully tight), only having to replace the bushings occassionally. Instead of buying Midway's bushings, I bought some hobby oak pieces at the local mega-home improvement store and cut/drilled to fit.
Certainly a good deal for the money.
