Are the Remington 870 and 1100 butt stocks interchangeable? I bought one of each at a sale, one is marked 11 and the other 870. The hole on both are the same size. Thanks

Yes, they are interchangeable. I have an old 870 which I recently upgraded with new wood and a new barrel. The butt stock was from an 1100 that I bought cheap at an auction. At some point Remington changed to a longer stock bolt so you may have to buy a new bolt. I discovered this when installing the 1100 stock on my 870.
